Hi there,
You need to know about these guys, and I'm working my way through every Internet chat forum that remotely applies. We made a mistake, at the behest of an old friend, and are paying for it.
As anyone who knows me knows, I am not fond of AMCs. In fact, I hate them. However, a friend from days now gone by plead with me to use one (presumably so that we could still service him, I guess), and so against my better judgment I did. And I freely admit my mistake and regret ever having come into contact with this firm:
Global Appraisal Solutions, LLC
Clearwater, Florida
Owner - Larry Holzer
If you or your fellow appraisers are using this firm you will find being paid most complicated. They will moan about being in a lawsuit, and talk about lack of solvency. Never mind that they *claim to have collected up front*, IRL they haven't any money. Larry Holzer will tell you horse stories, but those won’t hold any water.
We did two for him that went unpaid, both were FHA, and I also plan to contact HUD and advise them of his methods, as well. We have well documented proof of Larry’s methods, not the least of which was this:
"Global Appraisal Solutions is one of the fastest growing appraisal management companies and we recently launched the "Preferred Appraiser Program." The Company posted a record month in the month of July with sales in excess of $130,000, and we just delivered our largest appraiser pay run in Company history. The Preferred Appraiser Program is designed with appraisers in mind."
Yet now he claims he's insolvent. I didn't say that, he did, to me, just today:
"Send your invoices as an attachment, and they will be paid out when the company is solvent."
So, he claims one thing, but is broke less than a month later, you see. (The 2 he isn’t paying us for were done mid and late August.) For the record, he did not pressure us on these deals, as others have said was his M.O., nor did we make the even larger mistake of signing up as one of his “Preferred Appraisers” for some ridiculous fee.
I’m just letting you all know so that you are aware, and avoid this firm if you value your cash flow (as an appraiser). We shouldn't have done it, never, never, never. And where, OH WHERE, is the IVPI, anyway…?
Best,
Dave...
By the way, I told Larry Holzer I was going to do this, and other things, in attempt to motivate him, and below was his response:
"Do what you need to do. This will be my final response."
Okay, with his permission, wish granted.
