Self portrait - picture - talking about optimistic!

I have a german shepard and couldn't pass up this piece of art when I saw it in New Orleans (at the appraisal convention there some years back). I loved it!

While, these articles may not seem to directly effect a Florida engineer, many of my clients develop products for these firms.
We are seeing companies hunkered down, however Cash is King. Any company with cash is finding great deals to buy capital equipment and land. We are seeing Engineering companies planning for recovery.
Ways to protect you and your job.

Don't speed even one mile over the speed limit. Florida Counties need cash and police are full time ticketing.
Work hard, stay extra hours at work and communicate with your Boss. Engineers who work those extra hours and stay in touch with management are more likely to avoid a lay off.
Stay healthy. Exercise to reduce stress levels and but maintain a youthful appearance.
Floss your teeth. There is considerable research that bacteria in dental plaque can prompt blood to clot.
Attitudes are Contagious. Spread positive vibes at work. Negative employees get laid first.
Start a new Hobbie. (Learn a new language, take up a new instrument) Stimulating your brain with new activities will trigger creative innovation at work and home.
Spend time with family.
Listen to music.
Turn off the TV. Television can stand in the way of relationships, life and more... Besides all the news is gloomy anyway.
Smile. The act of smiling will improve your attitude and your career.
The Economy will turn around and hiring Freezes won't last forever. So stay positive and enjoy our beautiful Spring weather.

PEACE>
it does not mean to be in a place
where there is no noise, trouble
or hard work, it means to be in
the midst of those things and still
be calm in your heart.
