iPhone Software Update 3.1 Allows One To Finally Be Able To Organize Apps Via Your Desktop

When I bought my iPhone in March 2009, I got a little carried away. Well, maybe a lot carried away. I use my iPhone hourly it seems and now have about 101 apps on 7 pages. The frustration from the start was in organizing and keeping the apps organized, especially after my kids get a hold of it for an hour. My kids think my iPhone is their new "Wii" game consol with the bowling apps, etc..

Anyway, the new iPhone software update, 3.1, is supposed to help. The Apple email I received yesterday shows this below:
"Organize Apps in iTunes - Use iTunes on your computer to drag apps onto virtual Home screens, then sync them to your iPhone.*"

PROBLEMS WITH THIS UPDATE?
When I installed this update, it took about 30 minutes to install it. Then, my iPhone had to be restored, which took another hour +.....so glad I had been syncing it often. My dad called yesterday to say he began the process of installing the 3.1 update, but the message told him it would take approx. 5 hours to complete, so he aborted for now.

Hope this helps!

I installed 3.1 with no problems. However, there is a problem with 3.1 that affects battery life. Since installing 3.1 many iPhone owners have reported rapid battery drain. Apple is aware of the problem and is aggressively trying to solve it. As soon as Apple gets a fix for it, they will release an update to 3.1.
