Ingrid - Is the NCPAC talking about the possible legislation on Appraisers requiring a brick and mortor office space?

My wife and I are appraisers here in Vero Beach, Florida and became State Certified in North Carolina. We're looking to relocate to the Cary / Apex area within the next year or so.

For all of the North Carolina Appraisers who attended the yearly NCPAC meeting, I hope you had a safe trip back home. Remember to contact your local legislature, and get/stay involved.

Some of the speakers were representatives from the NC Appraisal Board, NC Real Estate Commission, NC Bankers, and a State Legislature spoke (very, very interesting information that raised the blood pressure for many of the appraisers in the room). The representitive from the NC Appraisal Board was very informative, and you can tell that he has a great apprecation, and love for this profession, super nice guy! He only had nice things to say.

A local chapter (Charlotte) of NCPAC will be forming soon, I will keep you informed.

Well, we Carolinians are very fortunate these days with strong markets for the most part. We are certainly living a different "appraisal life" than so many other appraisers nationwide.

I wrote to Shannon about this earlier, but I would like to spread the good word about NCPAC - the North Carolina Professional Appraisers Coalition. There are seasoned and committed appraisers running this group who are trying to represent us nationally and locally, so that each individual appraiser has a much bigger, louder voice. Check out www. ncpac.org and think about the one-day conference coming up in October.
