You may be right. There was a reason I fell out of love with it. Now that the reason is gone, maybe the spark will come back.

It's well know that owl snot is one of the slickest substances known to mankind. At least, that's what I've always heard. At least it's a good analogy. Try it some time.

Two states I love besides Alabama are Colorado and West Virginia. I really have no ties to either other than I love to ski in Colorado and I have spent some time in WV riding dirt bikes and doing chuch mission work. It was a really good football game earlier this season between the two. I was having a good time watching it until my satellite messed up and I missed the last quarter. I understand I missed a pretty good game. Roll Tide, Go Buffs, Go 'Neers!

We have several good riding spots around here. One really good one in the Talledega national forest where we go except when it rains. Then it is slicker than owl snot. Those are exactly th type of things I am talking about. I did a fair amount of litigation support a couple of years ago and I'm trying to get back into that and estate work. Refi business does well when we are coming off some high interest years but it hasn't been that way in a while. Everybody has 5.5 - 6.5% interest rates. The rates would pretty much have to dip down to the mid 4% to make a refi attractive, especially if the owner had been in the house more than 4 or 5 years. Don't want to lose that term reduction unless they're about to lose the house. But there's a lot I don't know. I've been at it 15 years and stopped loving it when the down payment assistance, 125% refi, no down payment, option ARM crap started up. Maybe since all that bs is gone I can fall back in love with it. As with everything, it is the people that screw everything up.

I see I didn't answer all your questions. You could probably tell from my last comment I am in Alabama. Birmingham, specifically. I am a residential appraiser here. Business is really down, as it is all over. I have been doing FHA reviews for a while now and some litigation work. I am trying to move out of the mortgage appraisal business into other lines that may be a little more recession proof. Go Bama!

Hey Bob. Thanks for the comments. That was in West Virginia on one of the Hatfield & McCoy trail system trails. You can google trailsheaven.com and check it out. It's a little far for you to go for some great riding but it's interesting to read about. It is the largest ORV system in the world. That particular spot doesn't look particularly daunting and the picture doesn't do it justice. I was the first one through and I was trying to wheelie through a part of it when an underwater obstacle caught my rear tire and I immediately went over. The water was about 18 - 24" deep and my entire bike was underwater. I don't think I've ever moved that fast. Needless to say it wouldn't start because water doesn't compress. We had to stand it up on its rear tire and drain the water out of the pipe and take out the plug before it would start. That water really stunk, too. We rode those trails for 4 days and it was a great ride. I have a friend who owns some land around Breck and he goes there in the summer and rides his little TTR-230 on the trails and fireroads and says it is wonderful and I bet it is. Some of the pics I posted are from Breck and Beaver Creek. I love Colorado. I'm a little too old to get on a track anymore but I love to off-road. The KDX isn't too suited for tracks anyway. What do you ride? Good to hear from you. Roll Tide!

Jim, Kat & Bill,

Thanks for the warm welcome. And, I apolgoze for taking so long to reply but I had a flurry of business. Now that that's over, maybe it's time to play on the pc..?

How are the three of you - do you have much work? Are you staying afloat? Are you like me in that you're hoping for bigger & better things come next spring?

I hope that you're all at least healthy and happy!

Bob, Great to have you from the People's Republic of Boulder! As is often said, Boulder is 25 square miles surrounded by reality.
