Home base is Nevada City, its 45 minuets to Sugar Bowl in good weather and 2-1/2 hours or more in a snow storm. I know what you mean about kids. I had my epic ski trips to Colorado back in 1990 and 1992 (without the wife). When I got back, my wife was so happy to see me we seemed to end up making kids (both times). I haven’t been back to Colorado since then.

I work as a ski instructor to finance the lift tickets for the kids. Last year my oldest daughter was asked to join the High School Ski team, the cost was going to be $2,000 (Ouch!). Well, the appraisal business was and still is in the toilet, so I found my way to becoming a ski instructor. Oh, my daughter never did join the ski team but she is working at Sugar Bowl this year and may start training to become a ski instructor for her senior project.

Cheers!

Greg,
Thanks for the comment. I see you are a skier. Where was the photo taken. I will be working as a ski instructor again at Sugar Bowl. No snow here, we are hoping the weather will cool off soon.
Cheers!

I'm guessing that when business picks up, you'll get back into the groove. I think it's a great job - in the office; out of the office; seeing wierd houses; meeting crazy characters; not sitting in a cube... And, when work is available, the money's not bad.

PS: Owl snot?

PSS: Go Buffs!

Greg, I don't get to the east coast very often, but next time I do, maybe you can give me a moto tour? I've always thought riding the mx and mountain bike trails out east would be awesome!

And, I think you're onto something as the busiest appraiser I know does very few mortage appraisals and primarily focuses on divorces, estate settlements, mold damage assessment...

On the other hand, a retired appraiser / day-trader-investor-buddy of mine thinks that the residential refi business is about to boom! Who knows, but at this point, I'm trying to hold on and be one of the survivors. I've invested 23 years in the biz and still really enjoy appraising.

I hope you're off to a good week.

Greetings Greg,
I saw your moto photos and had to say "hey". Where were you with all that water? Might it have been in Utah? Check out the attached photo of my most recent trip to the Green River area. I'm typically a track rider and unexpected amount of water was really tough gettin' through.

Anyway, I appraise residential stuff in Boulder, CO - where are you and what kind a appraisal work do you perform?

See ya!

Thank you Greg! I really appreciate you joining the AI Associates group too! I am a post 2005 person - and I think I have a LONG way to go! I am mostly interested in the education during the process though - and I have a 4 year goal at least to get through it all (and hopefully finish my bachelors degree in the same period...we'll see!)

Thanks again for the help and for coming aboard to speak to others in the AI group! You are approved with unmoderated privledges!

Thank you Greg! Congratulations also on your SRA! I have a ways to go with the education from the AI, but I am looking forward to them for sure! It is great to see you on here!
